Where, Why and the How of it All
Is one arrogant and deluded to think there is no God? I think so, for despair, the unknown and the unexplainable are clearly God's domain. Only God can hear and understand one's crying and screams, give one hope and sanctuary, for no one else can truely understand what we feel inside and how the world is for us personally. To believe in nothing but one's mortal self, is to be just an empty shell listening to ones own echo, blithely alone with so many unanswered questions ignored.
A Brave New World
The one constant thing in our lives unlike parents, friends, jobs and even our neighbourhood, is television. From cradle to grave, do you know what it teaches us, without us even being aware? Look around you and think about it. What messages about happiness and personal goals are we learning when we sit, relaxed and ready to be entertained.
Live a Little
"The gate to a full-on life is wide but the path is like a razor's edge, only a few are lucky enough to walk that path without slipping and finding out that they were really only half the person they thought they were."
As for me:
I am a bit of a squirrel and prefer to stand around playing with my nuts all day, but every now and then I like to drop one from a great height and then scamble after it to see where it takes me.
Those constant speed car drivers
Don't you just love those cars that plod along at way below the open highway speed limit. You can't pass because the road is too busy or the road markings are telling you don't overtake. They won't pull over to the side of the road and let the line up of traffic behind pass them either. Whatever happened to courtesy to others?
And the story only gets more frustrating; when they reach the city limits they keep on going at the same pace, which is now well above the city speed limit, and so leave the highway line up way behind as the frustrated tailing conga line slows down to the designated speed.
Fuelled by size
In a small car, I normally find myself being overtaken on the highway by monster four wheel drive cars, but lately I have noticed a change. Now, I often find myself overtaking those same four wheel drives. "Why?", I wondered, but I didn't have to wonder for long, for when I pulled over to buy petrol I was reminded of the cost of filling up that little car when compared to those monsters (funny how big vehicles suck fuel the faster they go).
Come on fuel prices keep going up, for I am reminded of my youth when saving the planet was all about getting rid of fuel guzzlers, which somehow seemed to be forgotten by my, and later generations! Pity the reason for higher prices isn't about saving the planet, but then again, one can hope things will change for the better.
