Life is an Illusion

I can't understand this obsession that we have for material things today. Our lives seem to be all work and the endless collection of things, as if that makes us who we are. And what about those who we stand on in our pursuit of money and power!

This need not be...

Wouldn't it be a different world if we didn't care about what we, or someone else, looked like. If only we didn't care about how much money we had, what things we "owned", or how educated we were.

What if there were no material world? Wouldn't we then be reduced to being who we really are inside, be forced to actually consider ourself, and others, in a different light.

Welcome to Hill Tree

Over the coming months and hopefully years, I hope to bring you many short articles which will let you see the world through my eyes.

I am 50 years old now and I have looked on this world in silence since my primary school days. When I was a teenager I looked on in despair at the many global issues surrounding me. Then, in later years, I was caught up in family and work where these matters took a back seat. My own circumstances came first and the bigger picture was left to others, like politicians and "experts" with doctorates, to manage and sort out.

Now, I find myself looking around me again, and what do I see? I see the same old things I saw when I was a teenager. Nothing has changed, it seems to me all that has passed has been forgotten. Same wolves, just different sheeps clothing. Then I ask myself, "What have I done to make it a better place?" Dead silence comes the answer.
